Can God suffer? The doctrine of impassibility has declined in recent years. God’s majesty is weakened if God can suffer and face pain. Jesus suffered to rescue and save us. Our hope in death is that the Immortal died. The impossible was made possible for us. Impassibility, properly defined, is both biblical and a buttress to the gospel.
