Risk is right. Be mastered by one thing. Make much of Christ and him crucified. Those exhortations—and many more like them—are just as relevant today as they were twenty years ago. As a young man, I was captivated by Piper’s pleas for ‘fear-defeating joy in Jesus Christ.’ I still need this message, but now I want my children to hear it as well.
